IS virtue an example of utilitarianism?
For example, a tradtional example used by people who do not agree with utilitarianism is where there is a group of people who want an innocent man to be killed (maybe they think he has done something wrong). Utilitarians would argue that the moral thing to do is to kill the man, because it will make the group happy. But the traditional idea of virtue would say that killing the man is wrong, and not a virtuous thing to do.
