It is not safer to drive faster at night. Casualty rates are double at night than during daylight hours because people think it’s safe to speed, higher alcohol consumption, tiredness and darkness. (Lancashire Partnership for Road Safety). Speed limits are there for the safety of all road users at all times. Whenever you break the speed limit you risk being caught and increase your chances of becoming an accident statistic.
