Ive heard that protein blocks Sinemet from working. Is this true?
Sinemet, or levodopa, competes for absorption with protein. The Sinemet will not be well absorbed by the gut if taken too close to a meal which will cause it to be ineffective in managing the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. It should be taken at least 30 minutes prior to a meal or snack containing protein, or at least two hours after a meal.
