Leaf Raking vs Leaf Blowing: Which Is Better? Friday October 15, 2010 A “procrastinator” is literally a person who puts something off till tomorrow, the heart of the term being cras, which is Latin for “tomorrow.” I normally take a tolerant stance toward procrastinators; I, myself have been known to approach lawn mowing with anything but a carpe diem attitude. But leaf raking is another matter. For one thing, fall leaf raking isn’t subject to the same objections as is mowing the lawn in summer — and believe me, on any given summer day, I can come up with plenty of objections! But here are some of my favorites for getting out of mowing: • “It’s too hot to work in the yard today.” • “I don’t feel like listening to the din of a mower motor.” • “Mowing is too much like shaving: The grass just grows back anyhow, meaning I have to go throu
