• we didn’t really understand the government COPPA laws when we launched, and so we misstepped, missing the chance to get thousands of people on board with the campaign because we couldn’t legally ask for their email addresses • I got very depressed (this was the summer before I went into the hospital) For those reasons, and maybe more, the squip campaign never quite “tipped” into the phenomenon we hoped it would be and closed in 2005.
