Only if it is a community service job. A school is allowed to pay students for a reasonable amount of time spent for travel to and from work that is directly related to employment in community service activities. The time spent for travel must be reported on the student’s FWS time record in the same way hours actually worked are reported. The time record should separate the time spent in travel from the actual hours worked.
