6.2.(a) I get a carrier tone to MSN and then it disconnects? If this is your first time, MSN is looking for special file which is incorrectly named on the hard drive. \My Computer \Program Files \Microsoft Network\VIEW\Options \click ‘Show All Files’ (also make sure ‘Hide All Files in Registry’ is not checked) \CLOSE RENAME 800950.dat to 800950.da_ 6.2(a).1 After renaming the above file, I am still unable to connect to MSN … I had the same problem for awhile. I called Microsoft and they had me turn off the error correction; works fine now. 6.2(a).2 This is in the FAQ now. Remove MSN thru the Control Panel, then reinstall. Next rename the file. I know this doesn’t make any sense, but I’ve noticed with Win95 … try reinstalling it and it works more than half the time. I’ve even had something working right then all of the sudden it doesn’t work. Go thru reinstall and it works again. Bad quirk. but hey it’s a beta release right? markd@ And you can find the entire win95-L FAQ ‘mirrored”
