No, but it is highly recommended. A 1-minute video consumes about 1 megabyte of memory. Most cellular phones today arrive with no more than 32 megabytes of main memory and this memory is used to hold the basic phone OS and critical applications. Therefore, unless you use a memory card you will not have a lot of space for your beloved videos. The good news is that most mobile phones that ship today arrive with an additional memory card with at least 64 megabytes of memory.
