Please check the following: a) Check that the drive is correctly connected. b) Check the jumper settings on the tape drive and any other devices on the same cable. c) Check the total length of the IDE flat cable connected to the drive. The total length of the cable should not exceed 18 inches. If it is longer than 18 inches, use the 40-pin flat cable supplied with the tape drive. d) Try switching it to secondary master if it is currently a secondary slave or vice versa.
