I’m also irregular. My husband and I wanted to get pregnant, but I wasn’t having cycles often. I had a period in November 2006 and somehow ended up getting pregnant in September 2007. I now have a healthy baby boy. I’m not sure if this is always the case, but I obviously had to be ovulating to get pregnant.

You normally ovulate around day 14 of your cycle. But if you’re saying you only menstruate 2 or 3 times a year that may not be the case with you. You should consult a specialist to see when it is that you ovulate, if you ovulate. He may recommend fertility drugs to help you conceive.

Take birth control to regulate your cycle, then when it’s regular 14 days after your last period is when you’re most fertile

First.. you look like a big girl. Your doctor should have told you that weight has a barence on your hormones and will have an affect on your estrogen levels. This may cause irregular menstrual cycle and off ovulation days. My advice is one of two… the first is a bit harder… you have to be committed to losing weight. Second, which is much easier and often times free, get some birth control. Your local Planned Parenthood can do it for free along with free testing to see how your hormonesare also reacting to things. Just get yourself checked and remain calm. You’ll be fine.
