Dues are higher than they are currently in other writers associations. POMA is strongly member-service oriented with a focus on business dealings, technology, Internet use and other elements critical to profitable business operation. Services include: how-to and financial guidance centered on business and networking – between manufacturers, publishers, writers, broadcasters and photographers; updates on new technology via “Tech-Talk” – an online offering that provides recipients updates on the latest technologies and innovations in the journalistic profession with daily Web site tech-tips to help members operate more efficiently; business tips and tactics from veterans who have established long-term viable enterprises in communications and the outdoors industry; the opportunity to participate in the rich tradition enjoyed by accomplished outdoor professionals; and friendship and fellowship through conferences and other interactive events.
