Nuclear progress in Iran has dire consequences if diplomacy fails. Do you agree?
You write: “if diplomacy fails.” But, if you ask me, diplomacy has only gotten us jerked around by the Iranians. It has failed for quite some time now. I think the US is no match for the Iranians in negotiations. We will be toyed with until it is too late. Another nation would have acted already. The US will ponder and consider and then finally decide on some military action AFTER Iran has developed a nuclear weapon. And, when we finally decide to act, the public will come down hard on the Administration and undermine the government in the world media. I wish I could say that I was optimistic that diplomacy will yield something other than further delays and billions in corrupt payoffs, giving the Iranians the time they need to build the weapons and secure their assets. I am not optimistic. Sadly, the US lacks the military power to decisively take on the Iranians.
