Okay, here is the favourite, Whats the Swedish golf handicap system all about?
The system is based on something called Stableford where you count points instead of strokes. Dr.Frank Stableford is responsible for this type of competition and introduced his format in 1932 at Wallasey Golf Club, Liverpool. In a Stableford competition you are allocated shots at some or all of the holes in line with your handicap and the stroke index (SI) for each hole. The lower the SI then the harder the hole i.e. SI 1 is the hardest and SI 18 is the easiest, so you are more likely to get a shot on the harder holes. For example if your handicap is 17, then you will get one extra shot on holes with SI 1 through to SI 17, but nothing on SI 18. If your handicap is 28, and then you will get two extra shots on holes with SI 1 through to SI 10, and one extra shot on holes with SI 11 through to SI 18. Stableford points are awarded for each individual hole as follows: Net two over = 0 points Net bogie = 1 point Net par = 2 points Net birdie = 3 points Net eagle = 4 points And so on Calculat
