This problem occurs on start up if your hard drive is formatted as “case-sensitive”, meaning that “CIDIAN.DB” isn’t recognized as the same file as “cidian.db”. You can check this in the Finder by selecting the hard drive icon and choosing Get Info from the File menu. As explained in this page on macfixit.com, formatting a hard drive with a case-sensitive file system is problematic for many applications. This problem exists in Wenlin 3.4.1 and earlier. We plan to fix it in future versions of Wenlin, but in the meantime Wenlin requires a traditional case-insensitive file system.
