On the SDX switch how can I use Configurator to follow a DDI through to a pilot number and on to an extension?
The SDX switch routes calls in three different ways, upon reception of a DDI. The switch tries to match in an order the last three or four digits of the DDI in sequence with the following: • Via ARS (Automatic Route Selection) table, providing there is a matching number the call is routed accordingly • Via a Pilot number (which is basically a more flexible way of routing a call) • Direct to a matching dn (directory number) Once the switch has located matching digits the call is transferred to the appropriate extension. Answering the original question of how to configure the Configurator to be able to monitor calls all the way to the extension. On the Configurator DDIs and Extensions will have to be configured to match the DDIs on the switch. Regarding Extensions, all the extensions should already be listed and all that has to be done is for the extensions to be appropriately grouped.
