Our organization is interested in using a “station printer.” Can the text-paging system support this type of application?
The text-paging system has the capability of transmitting messages in a variety of formats and a variety of networks. It is possible to send a page to an e-mail address, a printer, a PC, scrolling message board and numerous other devices. The Center has not yet attempted interfacing with devices other than traditional wireless telephones or pagers, but plans to begin experimenting with alternatives during the early part of 2005. As additional information becomes available, the Center will pass it along to its affiliated organizations so they can determine whether they would like to invest in and benefit from such alternative devices.
