I have a diamond/gold/platinum man’s ring, which for about 20 years I wore without removing. I suppose the only thing you need to be careful of is the diamond when you are in water, it’s possible (depending on how the diamond is set) that over a long period of time the water may loosen the stone- but unlikely. As for the metal, platinum is safe in salt water and even more interestingly gold is effectively immune to sea water – it doesn’t even tarnish, which is why it’s easy to find real gold on the sea bed, as it stays glittery!!!
