Alfred Hitchcocks “Psycho” traumatized viewers at the time with the ax murder in the shower. The blood and gore in many films currently popular demonstrate how far we have come. The kids who went out behind the barn to sneak a peek at a ‘French postcard” are now adults who allow graphic sex scenes into their living rooms. And the scenes which were once only on cable are moving to the public screen. Bible values have been deserted and replaced with moral relativism. Home and hearth have been shattered and replaced with the family entertainment center. The idea of a family gathering together around the kitchen table and the Bible for family devotions is so foreign to American thinking as to be almost laughable today, yet it was common at one time. My contention has long been that the reason prayer was outlawed in the public schools was because mommys and daddys and boys and girls had ceased to pray at home.
