Should a public inquiry be forced, will that mean the end of the Stobart group in Carlisle?

As you know the planning application we put in forced the inquiry and has been withdrawn. The reason for that is the time it was going to take to get an answer and an unknown answer at that. Any business couldn’t go forward without a plan B. What we are trying to do is really find out the key issues of why this planning application was called in because a year ago I was in a stakeholders meeting before putting our planning application in and I asked all the people round the table to please tell me if this application was so complicated it required the government to pass it because I wouldn’t proceed with it but look at other alternatives for my proposal. I am a born and bred Cumbrian. I believe my business has been built off the back of Cumbrian people and that is its success today. The reason for trying to develop the airport and keep Stobart’s in Carlisle is to give some of that back to the Cumbrian people. I have no hidden agenda.
