Should BET (the television channel, which stands for, Black Entertainment Television) be considered racist?
You’re half hispanic, right. Do you complain about the Spanish channel? Because that is a channel specifically targeted to Hispanics and the reason it’s targeted to Spanish speakers is because no other channel is – kind of like BET. I’m not quite sure what you mean when you say, “Is it because whites did not go through the struggle of slavery? even tough they did fight off other countries for the country, and freedom that i live in today, America.” but if you think that white people were th only people to fight in wars for freedom, you’re wrong. Blacks have been in this country for over 400 years and have fought in every US war, from the Revolutionary war to Afghanistan. I don’t think you mean any harm with this question but the reason Blacks have BET is because most other stations aren’t marketed toward black culture. Blacks are not the only race to watch BET and not every black person watches it. There are many channels marketed towards specific groups: Spike, Lifetime, CMT, Univisio
