We report our institutional experience with lung transplantation (LTx) in cystic fibrosis (CF) patients comparing long-term outcome with non-CF double-lung recipients. Methods: Of 361 transplants (355 patients) between 1991 and 2006, 50 were performed in 49 (13.8%) CF patients (1 SLTx and 49 SSLTx including 1 liver-LTx, 2 lobar-LTx, and 1 redo-LTx) with mean age of 27.2±9.1 years and BMI of 18±2. Seven patients had previous thoracic procedures (pneumonectomyone, lobectomy-two, pleurodesis-six). Results: Bilateral anterior thoracotomies, clamshell incision or sequential postero-lateral thoracotomies we
