Should I opt for a specialised MBA or a general management MBA?

This is very much a personal decision based on the aims or needs of each individual. Traditionally the MBA was intended to be a generalist qualification, allowing graduates to gain access to an increased variety of job functions within a wide variety of industry sectors in many different countries. A specialised MBA does not offer such an opportunity to widen the horizons of students. Therefore this would only be an option for those certain that they want to stay within a particular industry or function thus requiring further specialisation in a particular field.
