Should Major League Baseball develop a salary-cap system?

0

Yes, and not just Major League Baseball. I feel all professional sports should set a cap on salaries just so we ordinary fans can purchase a ticket and some food at a sporting event. I know I can’t afford to go watch every game of my favorite sports team because you end up spending a lot of money. However, if the cap was set at a reasonable salary then everything else along with operating a sporting event will decrease as well. That would be the only reason a salary cap should be established. I’m all for capitalism and as long as people keep paying money then salaries will continue to rise. That means tickets, hot dogs, drinks, and merchandise will continue to be priced outrageous. Also, I must note by looking at teams salaries there is a big gap between the lowest paid player to the highest. Is the system fair? Nope, but there’s a lot of things that are unfair in life. Teams should have a salary cap overall as well and not just one established and you can pay a penalty if you go over
