Should we allow for the death penalty for “Americans” who travel to Cuba illegally for vacations?

Allow me to speak as someone who has travelled extensively throughout Cuba and the USA. The Cuban people, in my experience, have no grudge at all with the American people. Most Cubanos I met were eager to learn about life in the USA, and to share their rich cultural heritage with US citizens. As far as I understand it, it is NOT illegal for a US citizen to travel to Cuba, just illegal to spend currency there. It is possible to obtain a visa to visit Cuba as a US citizen if you have family there, so the whole “illegal” shout may be a touch misguided. To correct your assertion regarding the no doubt US Government-fed information about Castro; yes, he is unquestionably a human rights disaster area as far as political opponents go…but Fidel has turned Cuba from US plaything/money laundering operation, into a vibrant & proud nation of Latinos who love their country & their leader. Cuba has a lower infant mortality rate, better healthcare, better adult literacy, and a MUCH lower crime rate
