Snowboarding question about stances GOOFY vs REGULAR?

0

The regular and goofy stance refers to which foot is in front when you go down the mountain. If the left foot is in front, the stance is refered to as regular, and likewise, if the right foot is in front, that would be the goofy stance. To determine whether you are regular or goofy, slide across a tiled/wooden floor such as a kitchen floor, or have a friend push you from behind. Whichever foot is in front while you slide or steps out to prevent you from falling would  be your lead foot.

First off there is no difference between goofy and regular except for which foot is the leading foot. If you ride goofy I suggest you set up your bindings for goofy unless you have a twin board AND the binding angles are perfectly ducked out (in terms of degrees ex. 15 front -15 back). What will happen if you don’t, then you could be riding 6 degrees on your front foot and 15 on your back which is extremely bad for your legs (front foot should always have a higher degree number). I have never heard of anyone pushing to the left regular then riding goofy. I would suggest you practice pushing to the lift goofy as well. But if you still can’t then still change your bindings to goofy so your bindings angles aren’t all messed up. Good luck man.
