I’m surprised PayPal have this view with regards to stolen goods. It doesn’t sound legal at all. PayPal could be held liable as they are not a Bank and have also made money from the transaction. 45 days sound like a load of rubbish when dealing with stolen goods as there is no time limit for when one could identify goods as stolen. You could be walking down the road and someone might recognise something you have bought after several years. Contact PayPal and just tell them the Police are investigating but their report will take longer than 45 days. Also Ebay will be held liable as they are ineffect advertising stolen goods on behalf of someone else. This is all irrelevant anyway as it is likely the goods are not even stolen.
