Some people say they can help me get into sports or work with sports at major games?
The positions of chief medical/therapy for a major games is an absolute privilege. However, its is a STRICT rule by the COC that this position CANNOT be used to financially benefit the person in that position. It would be a gross conflict of interest. Be weary of people that say they can help you get into a position at major games. If you are volunteering or trying to, the ONLY way that is within the COC mandate is to go through the CSMTA. But take note that you are thrown into the mix just like every other CSMTA therapist. As stated before, the selection criteria SHOULD be done via the board at the CSMTA. Also be weary of having to pay for that experience. The CSMTA qualifications and certifications are available to every therapist in Canada. They offer courses and examinations at set rates.
