Surely driving just a few miles per hour over the limit doesn matter?
This is not true. Driving even a few miles an hour over the speed limit can make a real difference. For example, at 35mph it will take a car an extra 21 feet (6 metres) to stop than at 30mph, and if you hit a pedestrian you are twice as likely to kill them. By reducing your speed you can help us to save lives and make our roads safer.
