The documentation for the Apex Data Mobile Plus V.34 Cellular modem says it should be configured on Com 2. When I install my modem, Windows says it is on a different Com Port, why is that?

The documentation uses the Com 2 setting as an example only. Windows 95 and 98 will assign the modem to the first available set of system resources. If the resources for Com 2 are already used, Windows may assign the modem to either Com 3 or Com 4.
