User Experience: What are the best practices for feedback survey widgets for a website?

Such surveys for users visiting a site are, more often than not, obtrusive. For a survey (via some widget) to give high response rates, these should be kept in mind – • Allow the user to spend some time on the site/page before popping a survey. • Know more about the user (e.g. where the user is coming from [Google search, FB etc], users geography, whether the user is a first time visitor etc) before popping a question to him/her. You can target your questions better to audience segments on your website rather than designing one survey that fits all. • Make your surveys page specific – your site’s registration page and pricing page should definitely be asking different questions.

What is your question?

*Sadly, we had to bring back ads too. Hopefully more targeted.
