A deadly two-car accident in Lavon took the lives of three people Friday. The two-car accident occurred Friday morning on State Highway 205 in Lavon that killed three people in one car and sent three people to nearby hospitals, according to reports from the Texas Department of Public Safety. DPS Trooper Lonny Haschel said the accident involved a 2008 Hyundai and a 2005 Honda Passport. An official cause hasn’t been determined yet, but troopers said the driver of the Hyundai lost control of the vehicle and veered into the opposite lane in the path of oncoming traffic. The vehicles crashed into each other so hard that the engine from the Honda Passport flew out of the vehicle and landed in the roadway approximately 20 feet from the point of impact, Haschel said. Three people in the Honda died as a result of the accident including 42-year-old Andrew Dunn of Nevada and her two passengers, 74-year-old Margaret and 77-year-old John McIlvain also of Nevada.
