Was Dunkirk a miracle or a disaster?
Dunkirk was both a disaster and a miracle. It was a disaster that all the troops were stuck at Dunkirk, with the sea at their backs and the Germans at their front and German planes bombing them from above. The miracle is the fact that all the small boats (also big ships) set sail from England and went to Dunkirk and brought the troops home. Without their help the war would not ended the way it did with a German defeat, and a lot of troops would have been killed or taken prisoner.
