Was Nick Griffin being sarcastic or serious?
Hypocrite. In my own personal opinion he is serious, serious about the whole immigration issue in general. The problem with Griffin is his inability to approach this subject in a delicate way. And that alone shows his shortcomings and failures. I am not sure why he even mentions Lybia, when you consider that almost 80% of the immigrants in the last 24 months came from Eastern Europe!! In fact majority of Lybian migrants who get on the boats end up heading for Spain, because at closest point there is only 29 nautical miles between Costa Del Sol and African coast. Most come across Guarda Civil patrol boats and are sent back. I had the privilege of working in Jakira in Lybia for 2 years. It is only a small place in the middle of Sahara and it is not even on a Google map. But it does house one of the largest LP gas flares in the world which is about the size of a footy stadium.
