Was the stopping of German militarism worth the loss of life in World War 1?

No, WWI was the foundation upon WWII was built. A total of 90 million dead in two world wars. German Militarism in WWI was to protect itself, and also to finish the Prussian war. All in all, Germany in WWI had good reasons for going to war. Germany didn’t begin WWI, that was the Austria-Hungary empire and Germany honoured their agreement. The treaty of Versailles pinned all blame on Germany, which was not the case. France was allied to Russia and honoured their agreement so France and Germany went to war (and France was allied with the UK so Britain went to war). German militarism was not the cause of the war. In fact it played very little part in the war.
