Tenzin Answer: Tenzin, Unfortunatey, we cannot differentiate biogenic and abiogenic magnetite using remote sensing. We really need to have samples returned to Earth, send an advanced robotic experiment, or get humans to Mars in order to evaluate any magnetite we find there. With remote sensing we can detect where magnetite occurs, but we cannot do more than that with current technologies.
