Were all the Chinese dynasties de facto different nations from each other?
The chinese themselves feel that the rulers might change but culturally as a people they are still the same nation. So they see the big communist revolution as just another change of leadership – “it’s still the same china” You could look at it the other way and say it is a new place each time, but i like this patient view of things that they have.
