Were Edgar and Nina Otto right to clone their dead dog Lancelot?

It is hard to judge someone for wanting to spend more time with someone they loved. While I personally might not choose to clone my dog, I do have sympathy for those that do. Some might say that this is a slippery slope and that if this is possible, people will start cloning humans so that they can live forever. That is a valid argument, and should be considered thoroughly before scientists progress further with this type of research. So, I have no problem with it, but I do understand the reservations that some people have to this type of procedure.
