What age are the people who participate in the International Summer Schools?
All Summer Schools’ participants are over the age of 18. The participants change each year, of course, and backgrounds can tend to vary from programme to programme. The more specialised programmes (Art History, Science, History, and Literature) often attract students who are further on in their studies than the four-week interdisciplinary Term I of the International Summer School. And the two-week Term II often attracts a lot of professionals who can only spare two weeks for their study. But there’s a wide range of ages and backgrounds represented on every programme. Overall, some 65% each year are aged 18-30, and the majority of these fall in to the 19-23 age bracket. We have a lot of people in their 50s, 60s, 70s and even a few in their 80s. The remainder are in the 30-50 age bracket.
