What age can children swim without an adult accompanying them?
Children 8 years and over are free to enter the water without supervision. Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied into the water by a responsible person. This means someone 16 and over, and responsible. That person can supervise a 7 year old or younger in the water. Children aged between 4 and 7 must be accompanied by a responsible person, on a maximum two children to one adult basis. This means one responsible adult can supervise two children between the ages of 4 and 7. Children under the age of of 4 must be accompanied by a responsible person on a one to one basis. This means a child 3 years old and under must be accompanied by a responsible person on a one-to-one basis.
