What alternative medicine for my 4 mos baby lingering cough with phlegm?
Take the baby to the doctor and get his/her advice. Keep the baby out of drafts. No ceiling fans. Wrap baby well if taking outside. If in a car seat, put a blanket over it. Keep baby in sitting position when feeding and remain upright for 10-20 minutes after feeding. Raise head of baby’s mattress by placing a small, folded blanket underneath the mattress. You can keep phlegm clear by patting baby on the back over the lung fields with a cupped palm, but you need to ask the doctor to show you how to do this if necessary. Don’t give the baby any kind of medicine or herbal remedies (especially honey) without doctor’s orders. Baby is not for experimentation.
