What ancillary supplies are provided at no cost to providers?

Ancillary supply kits will be shipped with vaccine orders. Ancillary supply kits will not be needed for the administration of the nasal spray [or live attenuated influenza vaccine (LAIV)]. There are three types of ancillary supply kits: • Multi-dose vial kits (to be used with multi-dose vials) • Pediatric prefilled syringe kits (to be used with 0.25mL prefilled syringes) • Adult prefilled syringe kits (to be used with 0.5mL prefilled syringes) Ancillary supply kits shipped directly from McKesson will contain quantities of 100 of the following: syringes, needles, alcohol swabs, and vaccination record cards. The kits will also contain sharps containers. Some kits may also contain 10 additional needles/syringes for mixing vaccine adjuvant. These were included for contingency planning, but since the 2009 H1N1 monovalent influenza vaccine will not be used with adjuvant, these mixing needles/syringes should NOT be used to administer vaccines.
