What architecture does NEXTEP use?
The NEXTEP network is open architectured and protocol/application independent to allow both service provider and user flexibility. It is aimed to allow network users to define their operational requirements with the network being a limiting factor. The network has an ATM core and distributed DSLAMs which are connected to modems connected in customer premises using copper telephone wires.
