What are a few holidays Arab Americans celebrate?
Arab Americans celebrate Islamic holidays like muslims in the rest of the world. All Islamic holidays are based on the lunar calendar so dates can not be established until moon is sighted sometimes festival dates are not certain up until the eve of the actual festival. There are lots of different festivals they celebrate depending on what sect of Islam they belong to but the most common ones are: Laylat al-Qadr – the “Night of Power” towards the end of Ramadan, which is when the first verses of the Qur’an were revealed to prophet Muhammad Eid al-Fitr – “The Festival of Fast-Breaking” which comes at the end of Ramadan *Ramadan is a holy month of fasting from sunrise till sunset each day.
