What are Canadian foods?
Here’s a cool specialty food shopping site I recently discovered, if you’re looking to experiment with international cooking and eating — National Geographic’s Foods of the World. It’s great because it aggregates food products from over 30 countries, whether you’re looking for coffee from the Netherlands, Greek snacks or Spanish olive oils. (And if you’ve ever wanted a “taste of Slovenia,” this is the place to find it.) Some of the items are pretty unusual, like the wattleseed, bush tomato and lemon myrtle spices in the Australian collection. There’s lots of cheese (some from Canada), which is always a good thing, and plenty of gift baskets — perfect for that adventurous foodie friend in your life. The site just launched, so expect to see its offerings grow.
