What are dental sealants and how long do they last?

0

A sealant is a light cured resin material that helps protect the grooves and pits on the chewing surfaces of the teeth from getting decayed. They cannot however protect in between the teeth, where only dental floss can keep those surfaces clean and healthy. Sealants can last anywhere from two to five years and often longer depending on the patient’s eating habits.
