Squares are for giving a right angle, you put your square on the metal and use the scriber,a hardened point tool to scratch a mark onto the metal then use the tin snips to cut along the marked line.If the metal needs to be folded into a 90 degree section you use the folding bars to make sure the right angle runs straight along the section and folds right, and if you need to drill the metal you use a centre punch to make a small indentation into the surface to locate accurately the point where you want the hole to be,and it stops the drill point from wandering all over the job.All tools of a tinsmith or sheet metal worker.
