What are file locking errors?
• Cadence uses lock files to prevent multiple users from modifying a cell at the same time or to prevent you from modifying a cell from multiple locations. Sometimes if Cadence crashes it will not have a chance to remove these lock files and will only let you open these cells in read only mode. • To fix the problem you must remove the lock files manually. Close Cadence and then, from a terminal, descend into your library and delete any file that has the extension .
