What are herbs and what are they used for?
Herbs are plants that have been harvested for their medicinal properties. These have been used over thousands of years by native cultures globally for their healing properties. Medicinal herbs may be prepared from several parts of a plant including its roots, bark, sap, or leaf, or the flowers (i.e. licorice root, wild cherry bark, etc.). Herbs are also used for many things in our society, including food flavoring, dyes, food, teas, and patented drugs. Ancient aboriginal civilizations, however, have been using medicinal herbs for thousands of years to cure and prevent ailments.
