What are ice molds? Why do I need an ice mold?
True Hawaiian Shaved Ice is shaved from an ice block in order to produce the fluffiest snow possible. Each Shaved Ice Shaver (S-500) machine comes complete with 3 ice molds that you use to freeze your own ice blocks. Simply fill the ice mold with water, place the mold in a freezer and wait for the water to freeze. After the water has frozen, simply place the ice block in the machine to shave your ice. Each block of ice will yield around 2 eight ounce servings of shaved ice. Our ice molds are sold in sets of three. We suggest always having a few extra sets on hand. To stock up on block of ice, you can freeze the ice in advance and then empty the blocks into freezer storage containers or bags. Once the ice molds are emptied, you can freezer another batch of blocks and repeat the process. This is a easy way to build up your block ice supply. Ice molds are not needed with the Snow Cone Machine (S-500) because this machine only accepts ice cubes.
