What are my options regarding the release of my thesis or dissertation into IDEALS?
During the submission process, all students depositing an electronic thesis or dissertation at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign will be asked to read and agree to the IDEALS deposit agreement (https://services.ideals.uiuc.edu/wiki/bin/view/IDEALS/DepositAgreement). Students will then have the opportunity to select one of three options for restricting access to their work: • Option 1: Open Access (OA immediately) • Option 2: Only U of I access for 2 years (OA after) • Option 3: No access for 2 years (OA after) Option 1: The thesis or dissertation will be publicly available through IDEALS soon after the date of degree conferral of the graduation period for which the thesis or dissertation is submitted. Option 2: The thesis or dissertation will be available through IDEALS to members of the University of Illinois community and through the University Library’s Interlibrary Loan service for two years from the date of degree conferral, after which time the thesis or dissertation
